I was born on the 20th of June, 1943 in Breda, in the south of The Netherlands.
I retired in 2005, after a succesful career in Engineering. I spent the last 20 years of my career as the Engineering Manager for a globally operating company in rotating equipment FLOWSERVE.
My earliest urges to express myself creatively came to light 50 years ago, when I discovered that I could surprise and amuse others (and myself) with the product of my hands. My wish to study at art college was discouraged by my parents, who rather saw me learning a trade that enabled me to make a living. That I did.
Most of my early works of art were made when I was between 20 and 26 years of age. We needed paintings to hang on the walls of our house, and I wanted to make sculptures of my children after they were born. In the period that followed I occasionally used my talents to paint something for a wedding present, or to thank someone.
I'm a member of the Etten-Leur Art Circle, and I am enrolled in a few art courses. I want to return to my original views on shapes, lines, colors and technical perfection, in order to establish a clear personal style in my work.
